1.7 The activities of the medical institution are carried out in accordance with the Law on Medical Care, the Law on Patients’ Rights, and other applicable regulatory acts, as well as the medical institution’s charter and internal regulations.
2. Accessibility of the Environment
2.1 The medical facility ensures that its environment is accessible to individuals with functional impairments. The medical facility is located in a building with an elevator, allowing for convenient access to its premises.
2.2 The medical facility is equipped with specially adapted restrooms for individuals with limited mobility, equipped with the necessary assistive devices.
2.3 The medical facility has clear and understandable signs and labels indicating service names and directions, ensuring that people with special needs can also navigate the premises.
2.4 The adaptation of the environment complies with Latvian regulations and ensures equal, barrier-free access for all patients.
3. Objectives of the Medical Facility
3.1 To provide medical services in the fields of podiatry and aesthetic health.
3.2 To conduct examinations, treatment, care, and preventive health measures for patients.
3.3 To ensure that patients are informed about their health condition, treatment options, and risks.
3.4 Ensuring respect for patients’ rights, dignity, confidentiality, and data protection.
3.5 Ensuring the professional qualifications and continuing education of medical staff.
3.6 Promoting public awareness of foot health, prevention, and safe care.
4. Responsibilities of the Healthcare Facility
4.1 The officials, healthcare professionals, and administrative staff of the healthcare facility are responsible, within the scope of their authority, for the legality of the facility’s operations, the quality of medical services, and patient safety.
4.2 The rights, duties, and responsibilities of each healthcare professional are defined in their job description, professional regulations, or employment contract.
5. Healthcare Professionals and Their Competence
5.1 Medical services are provided by certified healthcare professionals—podiatrists—who are licensed to practice, hold a valid certificate, are registered in the Registry of Healthcare Professionals, and possess the appropriate professional qualifications.
5.2 A healthcare professional is responsible for the safe treatment of patients, the proper completion of documentation, fulfilling the duty to inform, and adhering to professional ethics.
5.3 Healthcare professionals regularly update their professional knowledge and undergo training in the provision of emergency medical care in accordance with the scope of their profession and applicable regulations.
6. Patients’ Rights and Responsibilities
6.1 Patients have the right to receive safe, high-quality, and medically sound healthcare services.
6.2 Informed consent must be obtained from the patient prior to the start of treatment. The patient may give or withhold consent for the procedure.
6.3 Before the procedure begins, the patient is informed of the objectives, risks, consequences, and methods of treatment, and has the right to ask questions of the medical staff.
6.4 The patient has the right to access their medical records in accordance with applicable regulations.
6.5 The patient is obligated to provide truthful information about their health condition and to follow the instructions of the physician or podiatrist during treatment.

7. Patient Admission and Treatment Procedures
7.1 Patients are admitted by appointment, which can be made in person, by phone, or by email.
7.2 At the start of treatment, a healthcare professional assesses the Patient’s health condition, collects the necessary medical history, and informs the Patient about the goals, methods, risks, and alternatives of treatment. Before treatment begins, the Patient provides written informed consent.
7.3 Treatment is provided in accordance with regulatory acts, professional standards, and the internal rules of the Medical Facility.
7.4 In the case of complex, specific diseases, or diseases beyond the scope of the Medical Facility’s expertise, the Patient is referred to a higher-level medical facility or to other specialists.
8. Medical Records, Data Protection, and Confidentiality
8.1 Medical records are created and stored in accordance with regulatory requirements, ensuring the accuracy, accessibility, and confidentiality of the data.
8.2 Medical records document the Patient’s health status, diagnosis, and treatments provided, as well as the fact that informed consent was obtained.
8.3 All employees of the Medical Facility are required to comply with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Law on the Processing of Personal Data.
8.4 Patient data is processed solely for medical purposes and in accordance with the Medical Facility’s “Privacy Policy.” The policy is available on the medical facility’s website https://medbeautylab.lv under the “Privacy Policy” section or at the medical facility’s reception desk.
8.5 Patient information is not disclosed to third parties without legal grounds or the patient’s consent.
9. Quality and Safety Assurance
9.1 The medical facility complies with occupational health and safety requirements.
9.2 All instruments and materials used are sterilized and stored in accordance with regulatory requirements.
9.3 Staff members regularly participate in professional development activities.
9.4 Patient complaints and suggestions are addressed in accordance with the medical facility’s internal complaint resolution procedure.
9.5 The medical facility responds no later than 10 days after receiving a patient’s complaint.

10. Procedure for Providing Emergency Medical Care

10.4 The medical facility maintains emergency care equipment and a supply of medications in working order and ensures their regular inspection and monitoring of expiration dates.
11. Payment for Services.
11.1 Payment for the medical facility’s services is made in accordance with the current price list.
11.2 The price list is available on the medical facility’s website, https://medbeautylab.lv, and at the medical facility’s reception desk.
11.3 Payment must be made prior to the provision of services, either in cash, by card, or via bank transfer.
11.4 Gift cards are available for purchase at the medical facility to help you care for the health of your relatives or loved ones.
12. Final Provisions
12.1 With regard to any matters not covered by these regulations, the Medical Facility shall comply with the applicable laws and regulations of the Republic of Latvia and professional healthcare standards.
12.2 These regulations are a public document available on the SIA MedBeautyLab website and at the Medical Facility’s reception desk.
12.3 Changes to the regulations may only be made by officials of the Medical Facility.
12.4 These regulations shall enter into force upon their approval.
